For five years, Pathways 2020 has been an active community organization
bringing people together to solve local public health issues, improve
our quality of life, and strengthen opportunities for economic development.
Success is a result of more than staff and a board of directors
- it involves individuals and organizations throughout the area
that share a passion for Cowlitz County and desire this to be a
healthy community. Here are a few simple ways that you can be part
of building a healthy future for Cowlitz County.
- Volunteer your time: Serve on any of the four work groups for
improving health and healing, nurturing children and youth, strengthening
individuals and families and increasing self-sufficiency. Work
groups are staffed by Pathways 2020 and annually set their goals
and activities based on community data, report card information,
and the interest of the members.
- Be involved in the community with other non-profit and civic
organizations. Participation through United Way agencies, CAP,
RSVP, Head Start, Schools, and other organizations is an important
resource in our community and provides a very personal and immediate
way to impact families.
- Help with Pathways 2020 projects for reducing domestic violence,
improving healthy life styles, access to early childhood education,
community wide strategic planning, fundraising, identifying community
sponsors, and facilitating the community report card.
- Become a financial contributor: Make an individual donation
on behalf of yourself to Pathways 2020 or to one of its projects.
Talk to your employer, business group, club, and neighbors about
making contributions to Pathways 2020. Corporate sponsors are
partners with Pathways 2020 in planning and promoting new projects
within the community.
